The largest wooden structure in the southern hemisphere also happens to be Air New Zealand’s Hangar 4 — and keeping it looking its architectural best was a key requirement of the project.
When hydraulic engineers sought a siphonic drainage solution for the building’s distinctive roof, they turned to Aliaxis. Working closely with engineers, architects and specialist builders, the team designed a system that offers performance and space efficiency in equal measure, reducing the need for complex or bulky pipework. The result is a drainage solution that remains entirely out of sight — allowing the exposed timber structure to remain the star of the building.
