In Germany, we strengthened our commitment to decarbonisation with a new eco-friendly production facility in Mannheim, launched on Zero Emissions Day. The building features an innovative roof that collects and gradually releases rainwater, reducing flood risks while creating a natural cooling effect and a green space. Solar panels will soon partially power three buildings onsite, marking another step in our journey to reduce CO2 emissions.

Recycled pipe on the road
Our pioneering recycled-content HDPE twin-wall pipe, StormFLO® by Vinidex, has proven successful in Victoria’s North East Link road trials, being installed under a busy road. The pipe uses 65% recycled material. The trial was regarded as a great success – from StormFLO®’s ease of installation, requiring less mechanical movement than traditional options, to the excellent overall performance of the pipe recorded at each inspection. With Victorian Government support and industry endorsement, this innovation demonstrates how recycled materials can meet demanding infrastructure requirements.

Fitting the Red Sea. In the Middle East, Aliaxis is contributing to the world’s largest land coral nursery restoration project for King Abdulla University in Saudi Arabia. These sensitive species require high quality and reliable pipes and fittings to ensure that the aquariums remain at optimal to grow and preserve these Red Sea coral species for research and conservation. Nearby, we also provided nearly €1 million worth of fittings for the development of Sindalah Island as part of the same NEOM mega-project.

Engineering software: Models of success
Developed in-house, the Akasison® AutoPlanner software is a true example of technical service innovation used for evacuation of rainwater in a fast and efficient way. It is used to design and engineer siphonic roof drainage systems for evacuation of rainwater from large roof areas in a fast and efficient way. AutoPlanner automates difficult and time-consuming hydraulic calculations. It allows our technical teams to quickly provide safe, precise and constructible design options to customers. Additionally, we are now ready to meet specific project requirements resulting from industry’s adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM). In 2024 alone, AutoPlanner helped us win key projects across the world.
