In October 2023, we cut the ribbon to open our state-of-the-art new manufacturing plant in Pineville, North Carolina, the culmination of our biggest ever industrial investment.

We’ve been operating in the Pineville area for more than 20 years, but the new plant takes us to a new level.

We have invested $200 million into the development, creating a 200,000 square foot injection moulding facility which sets a new standard in hi-tech manufacturing for our sector for the group.

It will allow us to better serve customers across North America, thanks to increased production capacity and our focus on innovative production technologies.

We’re using AI-enabled systems at the plant both to achieve unprecedented improvements in safety and to optimise our production processes.

Amongst other high-end systems, we’ve deployed fully electric injection moulding machines – which use 30% less power than hydraulic machines, resulting in annual operational savings of $700,000.

The machines are just one of the features boosting the sustainability of the plant. It is also fully climate controlled with airflows, temperature and chillers automatically controlled for optimal efficiency, energy efficient light is fitted throughout, and other high-efficiency machinery has been installed that requires less water and energy to run.

This latest investment, which has created 150 jobs, is of great importance to the local community and was welcomed by The Honourable Jack Edwards, Mayor of Pineville.

He described the opening ceremony as an exciting moment for the town, saying: “Congratulations, IPEX, on this exciting project and your continued commitment to strengthening North Carolina’s economic growth in the manufacturing sector.”

As a further mark of that community commitment, we have donated $25,000 to She Built This City – an organisation that is creating pathways into the construction and manufacturing industries for young people, women, and marginalised groups.
