An odourless and colourless gas, radon tends to seep into homes through cracks in the foundations. It is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and is a growing health concern in Canada.

In the past, builders have used any type of pipe to vent the gas. In the absence of developed standards and codes, we saw a chance to develop a dedicated PVC solution with unique product features and markings that make it easily distinguishable from other pipes used in house building.

We worked closely with government and municipal authorities, including Canada’s 2025 National Building Code committee, to develop RadonX, tying our product launch into a public health awareness campaign.

The result: the first ever piping solution designed, tested and labelled to address this pressing need and the first to be developed in collaboration with a national standards body.
