A new surge of coronavirus infections has made the situation in India critical in recent weeks: severe oxygen and hospital bed shortages have the country’s healthcare system on the verge of collapse. There has been a wave of international solidarity to provide some support and Aliaxis has joined this effort.

Amidst a global oxygen shortage, our colleagues in Poland successfully secured a first set of 150 oxygen concentrators from a supplier close to our factory in Olesnica. Shipped by air to Bengaluru (formerly named Bangalore) – they have been delivered on May 7th.

Each of these concentrators can relieve five people at once. Hence, making an immediate relief for up to 750 people. No need for any refilling; these devices remove nitrogen from the ambient air to concentrate and deliver oxygen to patients who require critical oxygen support to get vitals back on track.

“I am proud of how responsive we have been as a company and want to send a special thanks to our Polish team and in particular Roland Diakowski, in charge of supply chain, who made it happen,” says Aliaxis CEO Eric Olsen. “Our thoughts are with the people of India in this challenging time and we hope that the situation can be brought under control as soon as possible.”
