Over the years, the company expanded internationally and developed its activities into plastic piping with the acquisition of Nicoll in 1980, Marley UK in 1999, and Glynwed Pipe Systems UK (including IPEX, Friatec, GPS, Philmac) in 2001. In 2003, the plastics activities had become so important that the group decided to create a new company. Aliaxis was born.

The timeline below shows the key moments that shaped us into who we are today.


2020

Creation of Aliaxis Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of Aliaxis.

2019

Acquisition of Silver-Line Plastics, a US leader in the manufacturing of plastic pipe products.

2018

Agreement to acquire full ownership of Ashirvad Pipes.

2016

Completion of the acquisition of the pipe business assets from Zezt (Australia), now part of Vinidex.

2014

Acquisition of Vinidex, a leading Australian manufacturer of PVC and Polyethylene piping systems.

2013

Aliaxis acquires a 60% stake in Ashirvad (India), one of the local market leaders in (c)PVC pipes and fittings for plumbing and agriculture.

2012

Acquisition of the remaining 60% of Vinilit (Chile).

2009

Aliaxis acquires the remaining 49% of Durman Latin America.

2007

Acquisition of 51% of Durman Latin America, a local market leader in pipes and fittings for buildings and infrastructure.

2003

Creation of Aliaxis as a separate company, as a result of a demerger of Etex Group SA’s plastics activities.

2001

Acquisition of Glynwed Pipe Systems UK, a leader in pressure and non-pressure plastic pipe systems, industrial valves and engineered products.

1999

Etex Group SA acquired Marley plc UK, active in plastic plumbing products.

1980

The first milestone for Aliaxis was the acquisition of Nicoll, a French company specialising in PVC fittings and rainwater products.
