After a few years with our business in Adelaide, I went on secondment to our Sydney business, where I’ve had a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and have broader exposure to the business and all things HR. In the meantime, this temporary assignment has been turned into a permanent position. There’s been a lot of positive change at Vinidex locally and through global initiatives, so recruitment is a big part of my role as well as change management activities to support managers in the development and performance of their teams.
When you have the right people in the right job doing the right thing the impact this has on the culture, morale and overall success of the business is so far-reaching it’s impossible not to get excited. I really enjoy being able to work with all levels of the business and being pulled into projects at different stages to help achieve that.
The development opportunities are increasing as the businesses become more aligned. For me, being able to transfer across businesses in the Aliaxis group means I have been given access to a large group of mentors and exposure to a broad range of learning and development experiences. There is a strong focus on internal development and cross-fertilisation of knowledge and experience which I have definitely benefited from in my time with Aliaxis so far. With so much change, initiative and development globally and locally within the regions it’s really a fantastic time to be part of and contribute to the growth of Aliaxis. The support I’ve received from the company and the opportunities presented to me have boosted my confidence and helped me to find a role that I feel allows me to reach my full potential.
