Learning new things while progressing academically

Category: Employee stories, Date: 18 Jun 2019

Josh,
Multi-skilled dayshift engineer,
the UK.

I’m a multiskilled dayshift engineer at Aliaxis in the UK and I support the factory operations on a daily basis. This includes assisting the 4 shift engineers, completing planned preventive maintenance (PPM’s), designing and installing electrical control systems, fault finding and troubleshooting of breakdowns within production control systems and site services.

I am extremely passionate about my job because it is so varied and challenging. I enjoy the challenging tasks that I’m assigned to because they enable me to expand my knowledge of engineering. Through my apprenticeship, I have been given the opportunity to learn new things while progressing academically. In the meantime, I have successfully completed my advanced engineering apprenticeship and I’m now working towards the next step in my career. All of this has only been possible thanks to the support of Aliaxis.

Josh, Multi-skilled dayshift engineer based in the UK.
