Connecting through the Aliaxis Athletes Club

For the longest time I’ve been using work-related meetings, conventions and trade shows as an opportunity to connect with colleagues and take part in sports activities together. With the pandemic affecting travel around the world, these types of opportunities are no longer readily available. Thankfully, the Aliaxis Athletes Club is serving to help fill this void – we can still connect, challenge and inspire each other, no matter where we are in the world.
The Aliaxis Athletes Club has been a breath of fresh air for those of us who have been working from home with limited social contact. Of course, it’s not the same as interacting in person but I have still had the opportunity to meet and get to know a number of new colleagues virtually through the club. Plus, one of the main activities I tracked for the Aliaxis Athletes Club Challenge was golf, which I play regularly with my son.
The current pandemic has really brought Aliaxis’ commitment to care into focus. From ensuring the safety of our people, to raising money through the Aliaxis Solidarity Fund and contributing to the communities in which we operate, our collective response to this crisis has been inspiring. And while I have contributed to local initiatives organised by Aliaxis Mannheim, it’s also nice to engage on a global level through the Aliaxis Athletes Club Challenge, which raised money for our solidarity fund.
Beyond supporting our commitment to care value, the Aliaxis Athletes Club has been a great source of motivation for me in terms of sticking to my daily training goals. The club has also managed to create a greater sense of community, which I think can translate into better connections and communication in the workplace moving forward.
