Across the Americas we have introduced new policies on diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) as we look to attract the most talented people to the business.

Gender equity is the focus of a new initiative launched in 2021 by IPEX in North America. To increase representation of women in our business we created the IPEX DE&I in the Workplace programme.

Already representation has increased, as has engagement from women employees. We were also delighted to promote Sonia Poirier (St Joseph) and Christina Micallef (Toronto and Mississauga) to the role of plant manager during the year.

In Spain, we’re helping people in danger of social and economic exclusion back into work as we step up our efforts to attract talented people from diverse backgrounds. Some 60 people have come to work with us in Alicante, with many taking up permanent positions.

In addition, we have joined REDI, the first not-for profit business network in Spain fostering LGBTI+ diversity and inclusion.
