Aliaxis SA, a world leader enabling access to water and energy through inventive fluid management solutions, today announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with Emerald Technology Ventures, venture capital and open innovation firm focused on industrial innovation which supports the water, climate, and clean energy transition.

Founded in 2000, Emerald Technology Ventures is a pioneer in open innovation, providing multi-national corporations insights into future markets. Emerald manages venture portfolio companies and other assets from its offices in Zurich, Toronto, and Singapore. Emerald Technology Ventures has broad in-house expertise in technological and corporate consulting.

With this partnership, Aliaxis will be joining a network of approximately forty companies benefitting from Emerald’s services with access to open innovation. The investment also offers key insights into due diligence, deal flow, and innovation consulting as well as clear synergies for Aliaxis Next, the newly created division of Aliaxis to select, incubate, nurture, and grow businesses from new domains to improve water management.

“Both Aliaxis and Emerald Technology Ventures are driven by leveraging industry and technology for a sustainable future for all,” says Eric Olsen, CEO of Aliaxis. “This common ground is already seen in that we have both invested in Hydropoint, a smart water management scale up.   Emerald is a great partner focusing on tackling climate change challenges and sustainability via over 500 venture transactions, including from its Water Innovation Impact Fund.

“We are excited about this partnership with Aliaxis,” says Gina Domanig, Managing Partner at Emerald. “It not only brings us a partner dedicated to addressing some of the world’s most critical challenges, but also offers us a common ground to build on by identifying the most promising start-ups that will be further incubated by Aliaxis Next.

The financial details of this agreement will not be disclosed.
